Thanks for reaching out and for your great question!
The Curly Hair Custard does contain protein in the form of silk amino acids. That being said, all of our products in our Natural line are safe for protein-sensitive hair as silk amino acids are usually easier to tolerate than hydrolyzed protein. They penetrate the hair to strength, rebuild & nourish chemically damaged hair without weighing it down or causing buildup. These amino acids go deep down inside of the damaged hair cuticle to repair and protect it. They have excellent moisturizing properties and add softness, body and strength to the hair as well as sealing your hair’s cuticles which allows for smooth silky shiny hair.
Also, silk amino acids are a small protein and less likely to react badly. The only way you will be able to know if you have a sensitivity to the Curly Hair Custard is to try it as protein tolerance is very individual. I would suggest trying sample sizes first and then move up to a regular size if you tolerate the sample.
We hope this has been helpful and remember, a good hair day can change the world!
